Porting Timeline

Thanks for beginning the number porting process with us! Below is a brief timeline of what to expect as we work to transfer your existing phone number(s) to your new VoIP Unified Communications system through Calico Systems.

📅 Step 1: Submit Authorization (Today – Day 1)
We’ll need two items to begin:

A signed Letter of Authorization (LOA)

A copy of your most recent phone bill (within the last 30 days)

These documents ensure we can legally request the transfer from your current provider.

📤 Step 2: Port Request Submitted (Day 1–2)
Once we receive your paperwork, we’ll submit the port request to our upstream carrier. You’ll receive confirmation that the request has been filed.

🕐 Step 3: Waiting for Provider Response (Day 2–7)
Your current carrier will review the request. If everything matches (billing name, address, account number, etc.), they’ll approve the port.

❗ If there’s an issue (like mismatched information), we’ll notify you to help correct it.

✅ Step 4: Port Date Scheduled (Day 7–10)
Once approved, we’ll be assigned a cutover date, typically within 7 to 10 business days of submission. You’ll receive the exact date and time window.

🔁 Step 5: Cutover Day (Port Date)
Your number will be transferred during the scheduled window. Expect a brief disruption in service (usually under 10 minutes) while routing switches over.
We’ll monitor the process closely and notify you once it’s complete.

☑️ Step 6: Post-Port Testing & Confirmation (Same Day)
We’ll verify that inbound and outbound calls are working properly on your new system. If anything seems off, just let us know, we’re here to help.

If you need temporary call forwarding while we wait for the port to complete, we can set that up for you as well. Just let us know!

Thanks again for choosing Calico Systems. We’ll guide you every step of the way.

As always, if you have any questions regarding the porting process, please let us know! Just reply to this message.
